A dress just the right shade of blush. Layers upon layers of tulle cascade to the floor. A crushed ribbon tied around the waste of a stunning corset. The only thing more beautiful than the dress is the smile that beams from Morgen. All day long. As her bridesmaids bustle about her. Helping put her shoes on. Adjust her jewelry. Hold her beautiful bouquet with bits of thistle in it. She smiles. Pure joy. Her love awaits her in a sun speckled orchard. She touches Doug on the shoulder and he turns to see her. They are all smiles and laughter. Today on this beautiful summer solstice they will be married at the dreamy Bear Flag Farm. Shaded under a stunning white tent their friends and family gather. Morgen on the arm of her father walks through three flowered arches. Her brother will marry the couple. With much love and a few surprises. Just before they walk down the aisle they ask their guests for their support. They receive a enthustic yes. They all cheer for the newlyweds. With drinks in hand the celebration continues. The ladies make a wreath of flowers for their hair. Guests gather as Morgen and Doug saw the log. A symbol of their ability to work together to overcome obstacles. A German tradition. Guests cheer again. With one final kick Doug breaks the log apart. Under strings of lights tables are set. In the center a table with a canopy. Cream curtains drape to the floor and floral chandeliers hang above. Lush greenery and flowers line the center of the table. The perfect setting for a wedding day dinner. Grilled apricot and plum salad, beef tenderloin, wild salmon with baby potatoes, red pepper ravioli, and grilled summer vegetables. Bees buzz as the sunsets over a lavender field. Doug holds his love in his arms. She smiles. That blissfully happy smile. They rejoin the party. Doug takes Morgen’s hand in his and leads her to the dance floor. They dance under the trees and lights. Husband and wife. All their friends and family join them and dance the night away. A mid-summer night’s dream.
